Vintage Pair of Mid-Century Brass-Tone Wall Sconces with White Glass Globes

A white globe on a small brass mount is one of the simplest wall lights there is, and one of the easiest to live with. This pair suits almost any room.

Each sconce has an oval brass-toned wall plate and a short brass-toned ball joint. A silver-toned ring holds a round white glass globe. The globe fits over the bulb and is fixed by small screws in the ring. A round shade like this has no corners or edges to throw hard shadows, so the light spreads evenly in every direction. That made globes a favourite for hallways and bathrooms in mid-century homes.

The sconces are in very good vintage condition, and the old wiring reaches us as found. They have been kept together as a pair and are ready to go up again. Hang them in a bathroom, a hallway or either side of a mirror.
