Vintage Pair of Small Brass Bedside Lamps with Wood-Effect Panels, Sold Without Shades, 18 cm
A matching pair of bedside lamps has long been one of the small comforts of a well-made bedroom. One on each side of the bed gives balance to the room and a soft light for reading. Mid-century makers produced many such pairs in brass, often combining metal with warm wood tones for a cosy, homely feel.
This pair of small table lamps follows that tradition. Each lamp rises from a round, stepped brass base to a short column with a drum of wood-effect panels at its centre, framed by dark rings above and below. At the top sits a small crown-shaped metal ring, called a gallery, designed to hold a glass chimney or tulip shade around the bulb. The brass has darkened to a warm, mellow patina that suits the wood-effect panels well.
The lamps are in good overall condition, with signs of use and age but no damage. Like every lamp we sell, they are checked in our workshop before they are sent, so they arrive ready to use. They are ideal on a pair of nightstands, and also suit a dressing table or a narrow shelf.
