Vintage Silver-Tone Champagne Bucket with Lion Mask Ring Handles and Fluted Pedestal Base, Regency Style

Two lion masks, each holding a heavy ring, guard the sides of this tall, gleaming bucket. It's deep enough to hold a full bottle on ice right up to the neck.

The bucket is silver-tone metal, with a smooth body that tapers gently down from a wide, flared rim. A lion mask with a ring handle sits on each side. It stands on a round pedestal foot with fluted sides and a beaded edge. A handful of salt stirred into the ice and water chills a bottle much faster. Salt lowers the freezing point of water, so the mix gets colder than ice alone, and a bottle of champagne is ready in about fifteen minutes.

The bucket is in very good vintage condition, with light surface scratches. It has celebrated many occasions, and it's ready for the next. Use it for champagne or white wine on a dinner table, a sideboard or a bar cart, or as a planter or cachepot.
