This candelabra, French, nineteenth century, rises on a dark fluted column set into a gilt bronze urn, itself mounted on a stepped square base with clawed feet. Three curved arms extend from the top, the outer two springing from small classical bust figures modeled in relief — note how each figure's hair and features are individually finished rather than left as a smooth, generic form, the kind of hand-finishing that distinguishes a genuine period casting from a later simplified copy. The gilding throughout catches light across the relief patterns on the urn, base, and arms alike.
