Antique Napoleon III Liqueur SetTwo Cranberry Enameled Glass Decanters and Cordial Glasses on Gilt Brass Mirrored Tray Stand

After dinner in a Second Empire salon, liqueurs were served from a stand like this one: two tall decanters at the centre, ringed by small cordial glasses, all set on a gleaming mirror so that every piece is reflected twice. The glass is a soft cranberry pink, fading to clear, and each piece is hand-painted in enamel with little sprays of white and blue daisies and lilac blossoms. The decanters have elegant bell-shaped bodies, slender necks and faceted stoppers. Around them, the glasses sit in looping gilt brass holders, and the mirrored tray rests on cast scroll feet, with a twisted rope-work loop handle at each end. Charming on a bar cart or sideboard, it’s ready to serve a digestif, or simply to catch the light.

Condition: Good Antique Condition, with light wear to the gilding, small verdigris spots to the brass frame, and age spotting to the mirror, consistent with age, as pictured.
