Bronze Capricorn SculptureSigned Faust 1994 — Mythical Zodiac Form on Stone Base
Capricorn, the sea-goat of the zodiac, has given sculptors an unusual gift: a creature that is only half real, letting the goat's horns and forelegs give way to a fish's curling tail. That hybrid form invites exactly the kind of dynamic, twisting pose bronze does best — solid metal made to look like it's caught mid-motion, neither fully earthbound nor fully aquatic.

This sculpture, signed Faust and dated 1994, captures that duality directly: a goat's bearded head with long, curving horns leads into a muscular foreleg, the body twisting back into a sweeping, fin-like tail. Note how the bronze surface is worked in broad, faceted planes rather than smoothed to a uniform finish — a deliberately rough, hand-built texture that catches gold highlights across the darker patina, giving the piece a sense of raw, unfinished energy rather than static realism.
The signature and date are etched directly into the bronze, visible on close inspection.
The sculpture is mounted on a rough-hewn, dark green stone base, its natural, unpolished texture standing in deliberate contrast to the worked bronze above it. It is ready for a mantel, console, bookshelf, or any spot suited to a genuine artist's piece.
It arrives professionally packed and fully insured — we handle the paperwork and worldwide shipping. Returns are accepted within 30 days.
