The rich, crackled texture of this shade catches the light differently than a smooth surface ever could, its deep green finish showing a fine network of age lines across every panel. Beneath it, two scrolled bronze arms curl outward from a tall, carved-effect stem, echoing the fluid Rococo lines of the eighteenth-century originals this style continually returns to. Lamps built this way, blending an antique-inspired form with mid-century manufacture, were popular through the 1960s and 70s for

Lamps built this way, blending an antique-inspired form with mid-century manufacture, were popular through the 1960s and 70s for exactly this reason: they brought the warmth of a period piece into a modern French interior without requiring the genuine article. It carries the character of a study or bedroom from that decade, the kind of lamp that still reads as timeless rather than dated.
The lamp has a two-arm bronze base with scrolled foliate arms rising from a carved-effect central stem, set on a shaped octagonal foot. Above sits an adjustable oval tole shade in a deep green crackle finish with a gilt rim, its height able to be raised or lowered along the central support rod.
This is offered as a single table lamp. It runs on two E14 screw-fit bulbs.
