Whoever S.P. was, they kept a well-ordered desk. Their initials are stamped in gold on the front of this leather letter holder, which still comes with its matching notebook and a slim pencil. It is a set that makes a desk feel personal and composed.

The letter holder is covered in warm tan leather, with thin gilt-tooled lines framing every panel. It has a curved back, a tall compartment at the back, a lower divided section at the front, and a flat stepped base. The initials "S.P." are stamped in gold at the lower right of the front. A matching leather-covered notebook stands in the rear compartment, and a small pencil sits in its own slot beside it. Lines like these are traditionally made by pressing heated brass tools through thin metal leaf onto the leather, fixing a fine line of gold into the surface.

The set is in very good vintage condition. The initials stay, as part of the piece's history. On a writing desk or a hall table, it keeps letters, cards and notes in one place, with the notebook ready for a message.
