Pair of German Chrome Wall SconcesBeveled Smoked Glass Panels, 1960s West Germany
Delivered free · US duties paid · Insured
Collecting mid-century design is often about chasing a feeling as much as an object, that specific cool, confident optimism of the 1960s, when chrome and glass came together to suggest a future that felt sleek and exciting. This pair captures that feeling perfectly. Faceted, octagonal panels of smoked glass flank a slim chrome backplate on each sconce, catching and bending light along their beveled edges so that even switched off, they hold your eye. Finding a genuinely matched pair like this,
One of one. When it’s gone, it’s gone.

This pair captures that feeling perfectly. Faceted, octagonal panels of smoked glass flank a slim chrome backplate on each sconce, catching and bending light along their beveled edges so that even switched off, they hold your eye. Finding a genuinely matched pair like this, both in strong original condition, is the kind of small victory collectors treasure, the sort of piece that instantly elevates a room and sparks a conversation the moment someone notices it on the wall.
Every line here is deliberate: the clean chrome arm rising to a rounded cap, the cool tint of the glass, the geometric confidence of a design that has aged into something genuinely covetable rather than dated. Pieces like this tend to become the anchor of a collection, the fixture a person points to and says, that's when I really got into mid-century lighting.
