Vintage 1930s Green Onyx Column Table Lamp – Gold-Plated Corinthian Capital, Neoclassical Statement Lighting

Of all the classical orders, the Corinthian was always the most extravagant — the one Greek architects reached for when a building needed to announce itself. Its capital, carved into tiers of curling acanthus leaves, sits at the top of this lamp in gold-plated metal, catching light in a hundred small facets where a simpler design would offer only one.

Below it, the column itself is cut from natural green onyx — no two lamps of this kind are ever quite alike, since the stone's soft, cloudy veining is set by nature, not by any workshop hand. Held up to the light, that veining seems to shift and deepen, giving the column a quiet sense of depth that painted or moulded materials can't imitate.
