A young woman with a sleek 1920s bob sits on the ground, legs stretched out and one arm raised high, as a long-tailed exotic bird lifts its wings from her hand. Beside her, a greyhound lies stretched out at rest, her other hand resting lightly on its back. The composition flows in one long, graceful line from the bird’s tail feathers to the dog’s outstretched paws. Her draped dress falls in stylised Art Deco folds, finished in a cool silvery patina, with warmer bronze tones on the bird, her skin and the dog. The group rests on a long slab of black-and-gold Portoro marble. It’s a quietly elegant mantel piece, perfect for a dog lover or a collector of 1930s design.

Condition: Good Vintage Condition, with some discolouration to the patina and small chips to the marble edges, as pictured.
