Vintage Brass Column Table Lamp, Fluted Neoclassical Style, Laurel Wreath Base, 1930s
The fluted column with a decorative capital is a direct borrowing from classical architecture, a form neoclassical designers returned to again and again for its sense of order and proportion. This vintage table lamp puts that column at its center, rising from a stepped square base rather than treating the column as mere ornament.
The fluted brass column is topped with an ornate capital showing natural green oxidation in its crevices, a genuine sign of age rather than an applied finish, before continuing down to a stepped square base decorated with laurel wreath relief panels on each side. It's fitted with a twisted cord and an inline switch for easy use.
The lamp presents in good condition, with light signs of use consistent with its age. The original shade shows more noticeable wear, so a new white pleated fabric shade is included alongside it, giving you the option of either.
