The fluted column, borrowed from classical architecture, remained a favorite lamp form well into the twentieth century — a way to bring the gravity of a temple facade down to desk or bedside scale, dressed with ornate collars top and bottom in place of a full capital and base.
This lamp, dating to the 1950s, follows that architectural silhouette closely. A tall cylindrical brass stem rises from a stepped square base, framed above and below by richly detailed decorative mounts. Note how the relief work at the base collar is worked in overlapping layers rather than a single flat repeat — the kind of dimensional detailing that gives the piece real sculptural presence rather than reading as a plain stamped pattern. A crisp, pleated white fabric shade sits above, included with the lamp as shown.
Whoever kept this lamp lit before you kept it well. The brass shows light, honest wear consistent with age, with the decorative mounts fully intact. It is ready for a bedside table, desk, or console.
It arrives professionally packed and fully insured, fitted with a cord and inline switch — we handle the paperwork and worldwide shipping, with the wall plug adapted to your country (EU, UK, or US) at no extra charge. Returns are accepted within 30 days.
