The Art Nouveau movement built its lighting around organic, flowing forms — arms that curved like plant stems, shades shaped like flowers rather than plain geometric bells. Long after the movement's original run, brass workshops kept producing lamps in that same vocabulary, curved arms rising from a fluted central column to hold shades shaped like tulips just before they open.

This lamp, in the Art Nouveau style and dating to the 1950s, follows that form closely. A fluted brass column rises from a square base worked with embossed linear and curved patterns, branching at the top into two curved arms that each hold a frosted glass shade in a scalloped tulip form. Note how the fluting on the central column runs the full height in continuous, evenly spaced channels, meeting the curved arms at a clean, integrated joint rather than a visible seam — the mark of a well-cast piece rather than one assembled from separately made parts. The frosted glass softens the light into a warm, ambient glow.
