Vintage Brass Pineapple Table LampClassic Hospitality Symbol, Gold-Tone Statement Lighting, Circa 1950s
Delivered free · US duties paid · Insured
There's a reason the pineapple shows up carved into doorposts, gateways, and finials across centuries of Western decorating: it's shorthand for welcome, the visual equivalent of a host opening the front door before the guest even knocks. This lamp takes that symbol and gives it a job to do — the fruit's textured, diamond-patterned body rising into a crown of sculpted leaves, cast in a warm gold-tone finish and set on a fluted pedestal base.

The texture is what carries the piece. Rather than a smooth decorative form, the body is worked all over in the overlapping scale pattern of an actual pineapple, so light catches differently across every facet as it moves around the lamp. It's the kind of detailing that turns a base into more than a support for a shade — it becomes the object you actually look at.
The pineapple's meaning goes back to the 17th and 18th centuries, when the fruit was rare and expensive enough in Europe to become an outright status symbol, carved above doorways specifically to greet visitors before they crossed the threshold. This lamp carries that same instinct in miniature scale, translating an old architectural gesture of hospitality into a genuinely warm glow for a side table or entryway.
This lamp presents in good vintage condition, with minor signs of wear consistent with age that add real character and confirm its authenticity. It comes complete with a crisp white pleated shade and is available with your choice of plug at checkout.
