Vintage Brass-Tone Heraldic Trinket Dish, Coat of Arms with Lion Supporters and Coronet, Champagne Collectible
Two rearing lions guard a pair of shields under a jewelled coronet, at the centre of a smooth, softly rounded dish. It looks like a small piece of a family's history set into metal.
The dish is a rounded triangle in brass-tone metal, with a smooth, gently sloping surface. In the centre is a round medallion with a coat of arms: two shields side by side, held up by two lions, under a coronet, with a scrolling ribbon below. In heraldry, the animals or figures that hold up a shield are called supporters. The coronet above shows the rank of the family the arms belong to.
The dish is in very good vintage condition, with a warm, even tone. It has been well looked after, and it's ready for its next owner. It suits a bar cart, a hall table for keys, or a desk for small things.
