There's a particular pleasure in a sconce that still carries its original glass, especially when that glass has the hand-worked, uneven texture this pair shows — a frosted, speckled surface that scatters light rather than throwing it in a single direction, more like candlelight caught mid-flicker than a modern bulb. Pieces like these tend to arrive stripped down to bare brass and reglazed with something generic; finding the pair with shades this characterful, shaped like an open tulip bloom rather than a plain cone, is what makes a sconce worth setting aside rather than melting down.

Each sconce is built from a beaded brass backplate, decorated with a small brass ring pull at the base and a curled hook detail above it, holding a single curved arm that sweeps out to a beaded cup and the frosted glass shade itself. The shade's edge is cut into soft, irregular points rather than a clean circle, echoing an open flower more than a standard tulip form. Sold as a matched pair, the brass throughout carries a warm, consistent tone.

Both sconces present in good vintage condition, with the original glass shades intact and free of cracks, and the brass fittings holding their color well.
