EPNS stands for Electro Plated Nickel Silver — a base of nickel silver alloy given a thin plated layer of silver through electrolysis, a Victorian-era process that made the look of silver affordable well into the 20th century without ever claiming to be solid sterling. This cache pot carries that mark plainly stamped on its base, alongside a maker's stamp reading "Krona."
The bowl itself has a rounded body and a wide, wavy scalloped rim, wrapped around the upper exterior by a twisted rope-style band that finishes in a knotted detail on one side. The base is stamped "EPNS India," pairing the maker's mark with a numbered code, both genuine period markings rather than added flourish.
The cache pot presents in good vintage condition, with signs of age consistent with its history. The silver-plated finish holds an even tone throughout, well suited to display as a planter or centerpiece bowl.
