Vintage French Art Deco Wrought Iron Table Lamp with Mottled Yellow and Purple Art Glass Tulip Shade, Hammered Leaf Stem
The glass tulip on this little lamp glows like a summer evening sky: soft butter yellow at the rim, deepening upward into clouds of violet and aubergine speckled through the glass. Lit from within, the mottling comes alive. The shade is held in a pierced iron crown at the top and caught by small curled claws at the rim. Below, the stem is forged from flat iron bands, hand-hammered with a textured pattern, that bloom outward into leaves beneath the shade. They rise from a round, hammered base. It’s the classic French Art Deco pairing of craftsman’s ironwork and coloured art glass, made for a desk, a bedside or a bookshelf.
Condition: Good Vintage Condition, with a natural patina to the iron and light marks consistent with age, as pictured.
