Vintage Glass and Brass Table Lamp, Etched Frosted Glass Globe Shade, 1950s
The bulbous, genie-bottle silhouette of this lamp's base comes from glassblowing — a gather of molten glass shaped while still workable into a rounded body and slender neck, then cooled to a deep amber-brown that reads almost opaque until light passes through it.
The glass base narrows from its bulbous body to a slender neck, meeting a brass collar styled after a vintage oil lamp burner, complete with a decorative cutout pattern and a small adjustment knob on the side. Above it sits an etched frosted glass globe shade, its surface carrying a delicate floral pattern that softens the light passing through.
The lamp presents in good vintage condition, with minor signs of wear consistent with age.
