Vintage Onyx Stone Column Table LampBrass Base & Accents, Statement Lighting, Circa 1950s
Delivered free · US duties paid · Insured
There's a moment in any stone yard where a rough-cut block gets turned on a lathe and, slice by slice, reveals a pattern nobody — not even the cutter — could have fully predicted in advance. This lamp's column is a record of that moment: a solid piece of natural onyx, its veining running in warm bands of cream and rust, shaped into a clean cylindrical form and set on a polished brass base.

The material is the whole point here. Onyx doesn't repeat itself — the same block that produced this column will never produce another exactly like it, which means the lamp in front of you is provably one of one. Set brass at the top and bottom, and the stone takes on an almost gallery quality, the kind of pairing that turns a light source into a small sculptural object in its own right.
Lighting like this belongs to a mid-century instinct for bringing genuine natural material indoors — onyx, prized for centuries as a decorative stone, given a second life as a lamp column rather than a tabletop or mantel. It's a combination that rewards a second look: the pattern seems to shift slightly with the angle of the light, so the lamp never quite looks the same twice.
This lamp presents in good vintage condition, with minor signs of wear consistent with age — the onyx and brass both well preserved, the kind of gentle aging that confirms genuine vintage character rather than a modern reproduction. It comes complete with its original fabric shade and is available with your choice of plug at checkout.
