Vintage Set of Three Graduated Silver-Plated Coffee PotsEnglish EPNS, 1930s

Details
Materials: silver-plated metal (EPNS)
Marks: stamped capacity marks, English quality star marks, maker's emblem
Style: English silver-plate hollowware, 1930s
Condition: very good vintage condition, natural patina and soft wear from genuine use

Flip any of these three pots over and the base tells its own story: a stamped capacity mark reading 1 pint, and a half pint on the smallest piece, alongside a row of star marks — the mark English silver-plate houses used to signal the quality of their plating, stamped on countless pieces of genuine period hollowware. One pot also carries a small emblem pressed into its body, the kind of maker's device that turns a functional object into a piece with its own quiet signature.

The three pots step down in size together, each keeping the same profile — hinged lid, curved spout, shaped handle — scaled proportionally rather than simply shrunk. That kind of graduated set, sized precisely by capacity, points to hollowware built for real service, the sort that once did honest work in a hotel dining room or a well-appointed home, poured at breakfast tables morning after morning for decades before landing here.

All three carry a rich, even patina and the kind of soft wear that only comes from being picked up, poured from, and set back down thousands of times. Displayed together, the size progression reads immediately, largest to smallest — a genuine set, not an assembled trio.
