Vintage Turned Wood Column Table Lamp, Brass Collar Accents, Neoclassical Style, 1950s
The turned architectural column, borrowed from classical building design, became a favorite silhouette for table lamps precisely because it could be reduced to lamp scale without losing its sense of structure. This vintage lamp follows that neoclassical column form closely, built in dark, richly grained hardwood rather than brass or marble.
The turned hardwood column carries a warm reddish-brown finish that highlights the natural grain, broken up by two textured brass collars at the top and bottom of the column. It stands on a circular wood base, wired with a period-style twisted brown cloth cord, and topped with a crisp white pleated Empire shade.
The lamp presents in very good vintage condition.
