Vintage Wood and Brass Table LampMid-Century Bedside Lighting
Delivered free · US duties paid · Insured
A lathe does one thing a hand tool can't: it spins the wood while the cutting edge stays still, so every point around the circumference gets shaved to exactly the same depth. That's what gives a turned wood column its perfectly even cylinder, with none of the subtle asymmetry a hand-carved piece would carry — the wood grain here runs straight up the shaft precisely because the column itself is a true, uniform cylinder rather than an approximation of one.

That wood column sits on a solid brass base with a ringed, stepped profile at its edge, the kind of detail that gives a plain circular foot some visual structure without adding actual ornament. The wood's warm amber tone and visible grain provide the contrast — brass doing the structural, grounding work below, wood doing the warmer, softer work above. It's a pairing built for function as much as looks: heavy enough at the base to stay put on a nightstand, tall enough at 54 cm to clear a shade without the light source sitting too low.
The wood and brass have both aged evenly, without any warping to the column or looseness at the joints. Its straightforward cylindrical shape makes it easy to pair with almost any shade you already have in mind, rather than one built around a specific decorative theme.
It arrives professionally packed and fully insured — we handle the paperwork and worldwide shipping, with your choice of plug fitted to your country at no extra charge. This listing is for the lamp base only; the shade pictured is for styling reference and is not included, and no bulb is included. Returns are accepted within 30 days.
