1960s–70s Diamond Wall Sconces, Set of Three, Ribbed White Perspex Panels and Black Metal Bases
Three glowing pyramids of ribbed white acrylic, each set on a dark metal base: this trio turns a plain wall into a small geometric installation. They give a soft, diffused light that suits a hallway, a landing or a modern living room.
Each light has a dark metal base frame holding a pyramid-shaped shade made of ribbed, translucent white acrylic panels. The panels are fixed at the corners with small round-headed brass-tone screws, and the fine ribbing spreads the light evenly across each face. The seller notes they can also stand on a sideboard or shelf as table lights. "Perspex", the name the seller uses for the acrylic, was first registered as a trade name for clear acrylic sheet in 1930s Britain. It comes from the Latin "perspicere", meaning to see through.
The set is in good vintage condition. The shades show marks and some discolouration, and the metal bases have light wear. The old wiring reaches us as found, and all three will be fully rewired in our workshop, ready to glow for many years. Hang them in a row along a corridor, or stagger them up a staircase wall.
Pyramid trio: a set of three vintage Space Age pyramid wall sconces with ribbed acrylic shades and dark metal bases, rewired in our workshop and ready to install.
