Antique Brass Table Lamp BaseFluted Column with Urn Capital and Figural Relief Base
Delivered free · US duties paid · Insured
One can imagine this lamp base standing on the corner of a writing desk in a softly lit study, its brass catching the last light of a winter afternoon before the candles or gas jets of the room were lit. Pieces built with this kind of layered ornament — an urn-form capital, a wreathed collar, a fluted column descending to a figural base — belonged to interiors where even the smallest fittings were considered part of the room's design, not simply its function. It evokes the atmosphere of a home

It evokes the atmosphere of a home where craftsmanship was expected in the details no one had to look at twice, yet everyone eventually did.
The lamp has a fluted, reeded brass column rising from a round base, the base finished with a raised beaded border encircling a figural relief scene worked into the surface. Above the column, a wreath or leaf-form collar wraps the transition point, leading up to an urn-form capital with acanthus-leaf detailing beneath the fitting. The brass carries a warm, aged patina throughout, deeper in the recesses of the relief and leafwork.
