Double Wall Sconce, Modernist Brass Tone Two Light Cylinder Sconce with Pleated Shades

Somewhere in the mid-twentieth century, the wall sconce stopped pretending to be a candelabra. Designs like this one dropped the scrolls and drip pans and rebuilt the fixture from plain geometry: two upright cylinders, a shaped backplate, one clean arc of metal connecting them. What survived the simplification was the essential arrangement — two lights side by side at reading height — now carried by a form that looks as at home beside a modern bed as it did when it was made.

This sconce is modernist in design, in brass-toned metal: a shaped rectangular backplate carrying two upright cylindrical candle bodies — one on the plate, one held forward on a flat arched arm — each rising through a ringed collar to its socket, dressed with a pair of small pleated white shades. Look at how the two cylinders sit at different depths from the wall — the staggered arrangement means the lights overlap rather than align when seen from the side, giving a fixture of simple parts a composed, sculptural stance. The sconce is fully rewired through our workshop before dispatch and arrives prepared for wall installation, in working order, with both shades included.
