An open ring sits on the table, three arched legs spring inward from its rim, and the column rises from the point where they meet, so the lamp appears to stand on a hoop of air. It is a small piece of engineering wit, and it makes an otherwise quiet lamp impossible to mistake for any other on the shelf.

This lamp is mid-century: an open circular ring in silver-toned metal carrying three arched brass-toned legs that converge beneath a slender reeded column, rising through turned collars to the fitting, dressed with a pleated white shade. Crouch to table level and look through the base — light and the table's surface pass straight under the lamp, and the ring's shadow draws a circle around the column's, a designed effect no disc-based lamp can offer. The two metal tones — cool ring, warm column — are the design's second quiet trick. The lamp is fully rewired through our workshop before dispatch with gold cloth-covered cord, fitted with the appropriate plug or adapter for your country, and delivered working and ready to use.
