Pair of Vintage 1970s Bronze Louis XV Style Wall SconcesAsymmetric Two-Arm Rocaille Design with Fluted Cups, Mirrored Candle Lights

These sconces are true Rococo in spirit, because nothing about them is symmetrical. On each one, a single arm reaches up and outward in a long, leafy diagonal to hold the higher light, while a shorter arm curls close to the backplate to hold the lower one. The pair is mirrored, so when they’re hung either side of a mirror or a bed, the tall arms sweep outward and frame the space like two halves of one design. The backplates swirl with rocaille scrolls and loop into an open ring at the centre, and fluted, flared cups hold ivory candle sleeves. The gilt finish is warm and bright, with deeper shading in the recesses.

Condition: Good Vintage Condition, with a warm gilt finish and light marks consistent with age, as pictured.
