Pair of Vintage Louis XIII Style Tinned Bronze Wall Sconces, Two-Arm Flat Scroll Design with Baluster Stem and Pierced Crest
Simple, sturdy and quietly handsome, these sconces follow the lines of 17th-century Louis XIII lighting. A turned baluster stem rises to a pierced, heart-shaped crest with a ball finial, and below it two flat arms swing out in bold S-scrolls, each ending in a wide, round drip pan and a turned candle cup. The bronze is tinned, giving it a soft pewter-silver tone instead of gold, which suits stone walls, dark wood panelling or a modern room equally well. Rust-brown candle sleeves add warmth. They’re a good choice for a dining room, a country hall or either side of a mirror.
Condition: Very Good Vintage Condition, with a soft, natural patina to the tinned finish.
