A vintage reproduction of Antonio Canova’s famous Neoclassical sculpture of Pauline Bonaparte as Venus (1805–08), in heavy copper-tone metal on a rectangular marble base. Napoleon’s sister reclines on an antique-style daybed with scrolled ends, resting her head on one hand, with a finely draped cloth across her hips.
It is in good vintage condition, with wear and darker patina to the copper-tone finish, and suits a desk, a mantel or a curiosity cabinet.
