The candlestick lamp, built on the silhouette of an actual candlestick rather than a purpose-designed lamp base, was a favorite Victorian-revival form throughout the twentieth century — a way of bringing an older, more ornamental profile into a room lit by electricity rather than flame.
This pair, in the Victorian style and dating to the mid-twentieth century, carries that candlestick form in gilt brass, with a dramatic twist-carved central section rising from a foliate-cast round base to a scalloped candle cup at the top. Note how the twist pattern spirals continuously along the stem's full length rather than repeating in short segments — the kind of unbroken, hand-finished carving that gives the piece real sculptural rhythm rather than reading as a simple decorative texture. Each lamp is unsigned, with no maker's mark present.
Both lamps are in good vintage condition with signs of use. Our workshop will check and test the wiring before dispatch and rewire where needed. They are sold as a pair and not divided.
Each lamp arrives professionally packed and fully insured — we handle the paperwork and worldwide shipping, with your choice of plug fitted to your country at no extra charge. Returns are accepted within 30 days.
