Vintage Brass Musician Sculpture, Abstract Art Deco Style Figure, Travertine Base, 1980s
This sculpture reduces a musician to a single continuous gesture — one sweeping brass line running from an outstretched instrument, up through an arched torso, down to a rounded base, with no literal facial features or clothing to interrupt the form.
The abstract brass figure is elongated and curved, one arm extended as though holding a flute or horn to the mouth, the entire form polished to a warm golden brass finish that catches light along its length. It stands on a square travertine base, its naturally pitted, textured surface offering a deliberate contrast to the smooth brass above — a pairing that reflects the era's interest in mixing modernist form with raw material and finish.
The sculpture presents in very good vintage condition, with the brass carrying a natural patina consistent with its age.
The piece is packed securely and shipped fully insured. Returns are accepted within 30 days.
