Vintage French Bronze Chamberstick Table Lamp with Pleated Shade, Ornate Scroll Handle and Small Feet, 28 cm
Before electricity, a chamberstick like this lit the way upstairs to bed, carried by its handle from room to room. This one has been converted to a lamp without drilling, so the original candlestick is untouched. A garland of grapes and vine leaves swags around the rim of its round dish base, which stands on small cast feet. A long scrolling handle curls out to one side, and the cup is wrapped in leaves and fluting. The bronze has a warm, aged glow, and the pleated linen shade casts a soft, golden light. It’s charming on a bedside table, a desk or a windowsill.
Condition: Good Vintage Condition, with a natural patina to the bronze. The shade is newer and in fairly good condition.
