This toothpick holder does its job through a simple cage form — four slender uprights ringing a central column, just wide enough to hold toothpicks upright, while the figure standing above gives the piece its real personality.
A gold-toned metal knight in armor stands atop a dark cylindrical pedestal, spear raised overhead, encircled by four thin gold-toned rods rising from scalloped rings above and below. The base itself is wrapped in a woven blue glass bead band, worked with white and red floral motifs, set into a dark wood body studded with small beads around the rim.
The piece presents in very good vintage condition, with light age-related wear consistent with its age.
