Vintage Louis XV Style Bronze Double Wall Sconce, Rocaille Scroll Backplate with Two Curling Arms and Leaf Bobeches
A slender backplate of rocaille scrolls rises and twists like a ribbon caught in the wind, curling at the top and trailing to a soft leafy tip below. From its centre, two arms swing out in opposite directions, looping through C-scrolls before turning up into star-shaped leaf bobeches that hold plain white candle sleeves. The warm, darkened gilt finish has a mellow, lived-in glow that suits an old house, a cottage bedroom or a softly lit hallway. It’s light and graceful, a good size beside a bed, a mirror or a doorway.
Condition: Good Vintage Condition, with wear to the gilt finish and a darkened patina consistent with age, as pictured.
