Vintage Pair of Brass Wall Sconces, Attributed 1960s–70s, Leaf Arms with Textured Bubble Glass Shades, 37 cm
In the 1960s and 1970s, European lighting designers loved to mix nature with geometry. Leaves, stems and flowing curves sat beside crisp, ribbed blocks of metal, and textured glass softened the light into a warm glow. Pairs of wall lights in this style brightened living rooms and hallways across Europe.
This pair of wall sconces is attributed to the 1960s–70s. Each one fixes to the wall with a square brass block, ribbed on its face for a neat geometric touch. From it, a curved brass arm stretches out, decorated with a stylized leaf and ending in a small scroll. The arm holds a rounded shade of textured glass with a bubbled surface. Glass like this breaks up the light as it passes through, so the bulb is softened and the glow spreads evenly around the room.
The brass has a warm patina with some marks of age, and the glass shades are in very good condition. Like every lamp we sell, they are checked in our workshop before they are sent, so they arrive ready to use. They suit a living room, a hallway or either side of a bed.
In short, this is a vintage pair of brass wall sconces with leaf arms and textured bubble glass shades, attributed to the 1960s–70s. Each is 37 cm long, and they are exactly as pictured.
