Vintage Red and Gilt Tole Wall Sconce with Crystal Flowers and Drops, Pineapple Leaf Plume, Two Lights, Hollywood Regency
A tall plume of slender metal leaves fans upward from the centre of this sconce like the crown of a pineapple, studded with tiny crystal flowers and dangling crystal teardrops that catch every flicker of light. Below it, beaded crystal garlands drape across the leafy collar, and two arms scroll out to ruffled drip pans holding ivory candle sleeves, each hung with a faceted crystal prism and a drop. The painted finish is a deep oxblood red, worn back in places to reveal silver and gold beneath, which gives it a richly aged, layered surface. It’s a glamorous statement piece for a living room, a bedroom or an entrance, where its sparkle can be seen up close.
Condition: Good Vintage Condition, with a deliberately aged, worn painted and gilt finish, and the crystals in good order, as pictured.
