Italian lighting in the 1960s had a gift for making one good idea into an entire lamp. Zonca S.p.A., the lighting manufacturer from Voghera, produced decorative lamps in exactly this spirit: modern materials, clean geometry, and colour doing the talking.

This lamp is Italian, 1960s, by Zonca S.p.A. — the socket carries the maker's marking, Zonca S.p.A., Italy, max 75W: a full sphere of sky-blue opaline glass seated on a low base, rising to a brass-toned urn-form socket cup. Look into the globe where the light catches it — opaline carries its colour inside the glass, palest where it thins at the sphere's crown and gathering to true blue at the curves, the depth that separates the material from tinted or coated glass at a glance. The opaline is intact, without cracks or chips. The lamp is fully rewired through our workshop before dispatch, replacing the old cord, switch, and plug, fitted with the appropriate plug or adapter for your country, and delivered working and ready to use.
