Set of Three Louis XVI Style Two-Arm Wall Sconces, Quiver Backplates with Ribbons, Leaf Cups and Pine Cone Drops

Three matching sconces make it possible to light a long wall evenly, or to frame a fireplace and still have one left for the hall. Each carries two candle lights on curling arms, with a tall, tapering backplate between them. They are a generous set for a classically furnished home.

Each sconce has a long, tapering, fluted backplate tied with ribbons and drapery, topped with an urn finial and ending in a pine cone drop. Two scrolled arms curve out on either side, each finished with a cast cup of leaves and a cream candle sleeve. The metal has a gold tone softened by a darkened patina. The tapering, fluted backplate is modelled on a quiver of arrows, a Louis XVI motif of love borrowed from Cupid.

The set is in very good vintage condition, with a darkened patina, and our workshop fully rewires all three before they leave. The three stay together, with their patina left as it is. Hung along a hallway, around a fireplace or across a dining room wall, they give a warm, candle-like light and a strong classical rhythm.

The set: three gold-tone metal two-arm wall sconces with quiver backplates, ribbon and drapery ornament, urn finials, leaf cups, pine cone drops and candle sleeves.
