Vintage Amethyst Bullicante Bubble Glass Vase, Hand Blown, Murano Style, 1990s
Bullicante is a glassblowing technique that traps air in controlled rows of tiny bubbles within the glass itself, achieved by scoring the hot surface with a metal tool before a second layer of glass is blown over it, sealing the bubbles inside. This vintage vase is covered entirely in that bubble texture, worked in a soft amethyst mauve that catches light differently depending on the angle.
The form is a rounded, globular body rising to an off-set trumpet neck, giving the piece an asymmetrical, organic silhouette rather than a strictly symmetrical shape. The bubble decoration runs across the full surface, with natural variation in bubble size and placement from piece to piece — the signature of hand-blown work rather than machine-pressed glass. It's hand blown in the Murano style.
The vase presents in very good vintage condition, with minor signs of age consistent with a hand-blown vintage piece. No chips or cracks are present.
