Vintage Double Wall Sconce, Attributed 1950s–60s, Looping Gilt Metal Arms with White Textured Glass Cone Shades, 32 cm
In the 1950s and 1960s, European designers loved to draw with metal. A single bent rod could become a swirl, a loop or a flourish on the wall, as light and free as a line sketched with a pen. Paired with simple glass cones, these designs gave homes a fresh, modern feeling that still looks playful today.
This double wall sconce is attributed to the 1950s–60s and shows that love of line. From a small round wall plate, a gilt metal arm sweeps out and loops back on itself, crossing like a ribbon. Each end holds a gilt cup with a tall white glass cone shade. The cones have a granité finish, meaning the glass has a grainy, speckled surface that scatters the light and makes it soft and even. When lit, the shades glow from within, and their textured surface sparkles gently.
The sconce is in good vintage condition, with a warm patina on the metal. The glass shades are free of cracks and chips. Like every lamp we sell, it is checked in our workshop before it is sent, so it arrives ready to use. It suits a living room, an entrance, a hallway or a bedroom.
In short, this is a vintage double wall sconce with looping gilt metal arms and white textured glass cone shades, attributed to the 1950s–60s. It is 32 cm tall and exactly as pictured.
