Vintage Set of Four Louis XV Style Brass-Tone Two-Arm Wall Sconces with Leaf-Shaped Drip Pans

Four matching sconces can light a whole room the same way: two on each side of a long hallway, or one pair by the bed and one by a mirror.

Each sconce has a slim, tapering stem decorated with a shell-like cartouche and topped with a crest of curling leaves. Two scrolled arms swing out from the base of the stem, and each ends in a leaf-shaped drip pan and a cream candle sleeve. The sleeves are moulded with fake wax drips. This was a 20th-century touch that made electric bulbs look like real candles burning down.

The set is in good vintage condition, with tarnish and darker patches on the metal, more on two of the four. The old wiring reaches us as found. The four have stayed together over the years and are ready to light another home. They suit a long hallway, a dining room or a bedroom.
