Napoleon's Egyptian campaign at the end of the eighteenth century did more than reshape maps — it sent artists and scholars home with sketchbooks full of hieroglyphs, headdresses, and temple friezes, and European sculptors spent the following century turning that material into a recognizable decorative genre now called Egyptomania or Orientalist sculpture. The style stayed in production well into the twentieth century, long after the original campaign had faded from memory, because the visual vocabulary — broad collar necklaces, pleated headdresses, draped robes — had become its own self-sustaining decorative language.

This figure works entirely within that genre: a standing woman in a beaded collar and pleated headdress, one arm raised in a gesture of address, robes falling in deep, naturalistic folds to sandaled feet on a stepped rectangular base. The casting captures real depth in the drapery rather than flattening it into surface pattern, and the dark patina catches warm highlights along the raised edges of the headdress and jewelry.

The patina shows the expected age and handling of a vintage piece, with no active corrosion or structural damage. At 63 cm tall, it's built for genuine floor or pedestal presence rather than a shelf, and suits a library, study, or entryway with room to let its height register.

It arrives professionally packed and fully insured — we handle the paperwork and worldwide shipping. Returns are accepted within 30 days.
