Vintage Brass Apple Trinket Box on Pedestal Dish, Hollywood Regency, 1950s
Novelty trinket boxes shaped like fruit were a favorite bit of whimsy in mid-century brass decor, small enough to sit on a side table yet functional enough to actually hold something. This vintage piece takes that idea and runs with it — a brass apple, complete with stem, that lifts open as a small lidded container rather than sitting as a solid sculpture.
The polished brass apple form carries a horizontal copper-toned band around its center for contrast, and the top section lifts away as a removable lid, revealing a hollow interior suited to rings, keys, or small trinkets. It rests on a matching round brass pedestal dish, its rim finished with a fine etched cross-hatch border.
The piece presents in very good vintage condition, with light age-related patina and minor surface wear consistent with its age.
