Vintage Miniature Silver-Tone Champagne Bucket Cigarette Cup with Lion Mask Ring Handles, Regency Style

A full-size wine cooler, shrunk down to fit in the palm of your hand. Two lion masks hold rings at the sides, and a beaded edge runs around the rim.

The cup is silver-tone metal, shaped as a miniature campana wine cooler, with a flared rim edged in beading, a band at the waist and a short round foot. On each side, a cast lion mask holds a loose ring in its mouth. It was made to hold cigarettes on a party table. The lion-mask ring handle goes back to the bronze door knockers of ancient Rome. Designers of the Regency period brought it back for wine coolers, furniture and silver.

The cup is in good vintage condition, with tarnish to the finish. It has stood on other tables at many gatherings, and it's ready for the next. Use it on a bar cart for cocktail picks or toothpicks, on a desk for paper clips or brushes, or as a tiny vase.
