Vintage Pair of Mid-Century Bedside Lamps, Brass-Tone Bases with Fan-Shaped Frosted Glass Panels and Tulip Cups

Each of these small lamps has a frosted glass panel shaped like an open shell, standing behind a little tulip-shaped light. Lit at night, the glass glows softly and the fan lines show bright against the frost.

Each lamp has a round, domed brass-tone base and a curved arm that sweeps up to hold a cream fluted cup shaped like a tulip. Behind the cup stands an upright panel of frosted glass, cut in a fan shape with a wavy edge and marked with clear radiating lines. The glass panel sits behind the bulb, so it spreads the light softly into the room and keeps the glare off the wall behind.

The lamps are in good vintage condition, with patina to the metal, and the glass is intact. They reach us working, and both will be fully rewired in our workshop before dispatch. Kept with care until now, they should be kept that way. A pair suits two bedside tables, a dressing table or a pair of shelves.
