Vintage Chrome Table LampWood and Chrome Column with Fabric Shade — 1960s–70s
Delivered free · US duties paid · Insured
By the late 1960s, the table lamp had discovered chrome. The material of car bumpers and espresso machines moved into the living room, and European makers learned its trick: polished chrome does not just sit in a room, it reflects the room back, doubling every light source around it. Paired with warm wood, it became the signature contrast of the decade — machine shine against organic grain.

This lamp is European, from the 1960s or 70s by the attributed date, its stem built as a stack of alternating forms: a stepped chrome foot, a dark hazel-toned solid wood sphere, a wide chrome urn, and a wooden cylinder rising to the fitting. Look at the wide chrome belly when the lamp is lit — a well-kept chrome surface throws back a single crisp reflection, where pitting or plating fatigue would scatter it into haze, so the reflection itself is the condition report. The lamp is shown with a fabric drum shade in cream, trimmed top and bottom with hazel-brown velvet banding to match the wood. It arrives with the appropriate plug or adapter fitted for your country, ready to use.
The chrome is bright and the wood elements sound, with only light age-consistent wear; the shade is not in good condition and is supplied only on request. Whoever kept this lamp shining before you kept it well. It is ready for a sideboard, a living room corner, or a generous bedside table.
The lamp stands nearly three quarters of a metre tall as pictured, a substantial piece in solid materials. It arrives professionally packed and fully insured — worldwide shipping and US import duties are included. For other destinations, local import taxes and duties may apply and are payable by the recipient. Returns are accepted within 30 days.
